This is such a unique thriller. The way it all comes together is so well done and although the format wasn’t my favorite (5 very long chapters with different POV of the same story basically), I can see how it enhanced the story even if it felt repetitive at times.

This was interesting. I was really intrigued to see we’re this would go and what actually happened. My favorite part was seeing how all the different characters and their motives differed from what you thought previously from another point of view. I do have to say though that most of the reasons things happened honestly was stupid and didn’t even make sense to me(like it did, but I don’t think any of it works, but then again they are psychopaths). I think this is worth picking up, but to me nothing shocked me and it was a little repetitive at times which I personally didn’t mind.

Loved! Until the last page, I was wondering what was going to happen. I loved that. It was fantastic. No notes!

Jezus Christ this was dark. And so so good. It just kept spiraling and spiraling and you never knew what the next move was going to be. I gasped multiple times, one of the best and most thrilling books I've read in a while. (but so many triggerwarnings, please look them up in advance)

What the fuck! Lmao!

This was fine. Cool concept. Kind of lost interest and felt not much after, but still liked reading. I am so scared of children.

This was so good! Like wow I’m totally impressed by this book and would wholeheartedly recommend it. I can’t say much about the plot without spoilers but basically two of Yuko’s students killed her daughter in a suspected ‘accident’ and this is the story of her revenge… and the aftermath of it. Minato splits the book up into chapters from different people’s perspectives and various formats too which I absolutely loved, it’s so engaging and hard to put it down. The prose is somewhat basic and brutally honest but the actual story is rather convoluted and very complex. Things are unveiled throughout with some shocking parts that place it in the thriller genre (one I’m not very acquainted with) but there’s many a passage on life, relationships and emotions pushing it into the literary genre too. The characters aren’t likeable but do have a lot of complexity to them which is great and in many ways I didn’t want it to end to get other perspectives too… very bingeable despite the horrific nature of the contents in parts. I was totally enthralled and gripped by Confessions and cannot wait to read more by Minato, and watch the movie adaptation too.

In a twisted way I really enjoyed this book. In the first quater or so I wished it had a little more spice to it but it balanced itself out. The ending is just a real bomb.
Unfortunately the teacher/mother of the murdered child is mainly absent in most of the book because she orchestras everything from behind the scenes.
Some of the characters could have used a little touch up especially regarding their depth.
All in all I quite enjoyed it and it gave me KDrama "The Glory" vibes.
