This is the first good one in a long while! It was like the dead junkie in the bathtub type of case where one murder led to something much bigger--but the way how this case unfolded was even better, because it truly does start small and grow big. The book puts a spotlight on Eve and the other cops fighting (and winning, of course) against bigotry in society. This case is definitely worthy of ! Asides from the case, we get an update on Mavis and big changes in her life. The book has a nice balance of daily life stuff and case stuff.
