This was my first book by Christie Ridgway. It was a fast read romance set in a winery. The secondary romance was also very interesting. I did not like the part where Allie thinks that saving her winery is more important than her friend's HEA.But other than that the characters were new and story engaging

Known as the "Nun of Napa" Alessandra Baci has her fair share of tragedy in her life, the final straw is the possibility of losing her families winery if she cant make it into a wedding destination. With her builders ready to walk out, Alessandra feels her hopes slipping away.

Television sensation Penn Bennett has never seen a woman who has evoked sensuality, curiousity, and manipulation all rolled into one until he lays eyes on Alessandra. Watching her he knows two things, he wants her and he nneeds to run out of town to get away from her just as fast. He is not sure what has happened when he hears the words coming out of him offering to help her when she desperatly needs it, he only knows he is in major trouble with the "Nun of Napa" by his side.

This was hilarious, I was cracking up through out. Christie Ridgway writing style reminds me of Jill Shalvis a bit. You have the three Baci sisters and your fair share of side stories that keep you wanting more of this book. A fabulous read.

I really enjoyed this and I'm glad Ridgway has started a new series. I can't wait for the next two books to come out.

When I saw that Christie Ridgway had come out with a new book, I was excited because I normally enjoy her stuff. But this one seemed to be missing something. I just never got into it and it took me about two weeks to read because I kept putting it down and then finishing other books. I'll still read the other two books in the series, but honestly I was a little disappointed by this one.

Alessandra Baci has had a hard life. First, her fiance died the day of their wedding. Fifteen minutes before the ceremony to be exact. Then, she had to carry the name of the "Nun of Napa" because the folks in her town dictated that she would carry all of their sorrow for them. Now, she and her sisters are about to lose the Tanti Baci vineyard which has been in her family for decades.
Penn Bennett has also had a hard life. He was raised by a single mom and now, his father has died and finally decided to acknowledge Penn from beyond the grave. He has built himself up from nothing to become the star of "Build Me Up" a show based on "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition."
Alessandra has just lost the contractor that was going to fix up the family's one hope, the famed haunted cottage where true lovers can see the ghosts of the original owners of the vineyard. Penn doesn't want to step in, he thinks Alessandra is a spoiled brat who is determined to get her own way and besides he's just been burned by a woman who took a lot of his money and ran, but he is irresistibly drawn to this nun. Alessandra also wants to use Penn to have an affair for the first time in her life. But when he actually falls in love and she still wants no-strings-attached, can they find their happily-ever-after?

This is one of the worst blurbs ever and Christy Ridgway has one of those websites I hate. One that is cutsie and fun but that gives no real useful information. There’s no blurb for Crush on You, only a link to buy the damn thing. That’s where I got this gem of a blurb. It’s a real shame because this craptastic blurb is hiding a gem of a book.

Despite the awesome beginning of the book where Alessandra Baci is putting on her five year old wedding dress on the day of her would-be anniversary, she is not pining away for her would-be husband. Allie is a woman that lives life to its fullest. She’s a person that cares about the needs of others. It’s not until the end of the book that she realizes exactly what she has done by staying in mourning for five years, but it’s not because she was actually mourning her fiancé. Cryptic, I know.

Penn Bennett just found out who his father was and has recently met his half brothers. When he first sees Alessandra, she is flying out of the house in flip-flops and a wedding dress begging her contractors not to leave the Baci wedding cottage (and sole business investment) unfinished. It’s while he’s watching her that he sees her turn on the waterworks and get what she wants. Penn has no idea that he’s witnessing the Nun of Napa get her way.

What’s so great about Allie being the Nun of Napa is that she deserves it. She has shouldered the grief of the town and she deserves a little credit. She takes an immediately dislike to Penn even as she is physically attracted to him. The same goes for Penn. He has little use for manipulative women and that is exactly what he sees Allie as. That doesn’t mean they can’t engage in a flaming hot affair.

It’s a small town, so there is a lot of meddling going on. Penn wants nothing more than to leave town but he can’t tear himself away from Allie. Allie is afraid to have any more feelings than lust for Penn because of the heartbreak she went through before. Any feelings she has now are going to be more intense to have and to lose. She doesn’t know if she can risk that. In the end it is Allie that has to take a risk and it made me love her character even more.

What is the worst thing that could happen to a bride on her wedding day? No it is not spilling red wine all over the white dress, it’s having your fiancé die minutes before your wedding. Now five years later Alessandra is known around town as the Nun of Napa because she carries everyone’s grief over her lost love. Alessandra and her sisters own a winery that is about to close its door forever unless they can make their new wedding location a reality. They will need help from the Penn Bennett, a neighbor, a popular home improvement TV host and a total hottie. Bennett is the illegitimate child of Clive Bennett and he is just trying to figure out his place in this new family as well as get over being caught in a womanly scam. Together the two of them will have to decide if true love exists, or if it can ever be found a second time. Overall a fun book. It is predictable, and there is a second story going on with Alessandra’s best friend Clare, but it’s a cute read that was just perfect for Valentines Day.
