I loved this book as a kid! This was back when I only read books whenever a classmate brought one from home and I'd literally read during class. (My teacher didn't mind, because I was doing well at school anyway.) I still remember a number of vivid descriptions, how scary some parts were, and the overall excitement of the adventure. Has a very Scooby-Doo mystery vibe but not quite as comical. Until now I still wish to spend a vacation in an old castle. That's how much of an impact this has had on me.
*I'd have to give it a reread to have an updated rating though.

This was a really fun read. Gave me the feeling of the Famous Five but with a creepy haunted edge! Definitely one for fans of Enid Blyton.
