This book is for ~10 yr olds but still fun for older kids. The emphasis on backstage in a drama production was awesome. The tropes were laid on a bit thick but nothing offensive.

This was cute. I love any book involving stage crew. It also has some decent queer rep for being written by a (apparently) straight author in 2012.

Excellent! This had me laughing out loud. Fun mix of stage crew, middle school romance and LGBT.

This book was everything I want from a Graphic Novel! I highly recommend it for your kids as well as you! Positive female and male role models, lots of juicy story while staying family-friendly, and the moral that crushes come and go but what really matters is what you DO - what you enjoy, what you are passionate about, and that you work hard towards a noble goal. Raina's heroines always have a level of self esteem and no-tolerance-for-BS-or-undermining that brings a tear to my eye, its so freaking wonderful. Read this comic!

A very fun book, fictional in contrast to the autobiographical Smile (though I suspect many elements of this book are also autobiographical), this is the story of a girl who works on the sets of her school drama, the boys she meets along the way who she thinks are either out of her league or unattainable (in terms of their sexual preference). The actual drama surrounding the play was as realistic as that depicted on Buffy the Vampire Slayer: painfully true.
