I am speechless with the plot twist, my mind is just blown. Now, I'll immediately read the final book and decide how much I hate Cardan or how much I am besotted with him.

Maybe because I have read it too soon after the first book of the series, it felt a bit repetitive.
I have to admit there are many plot twists that I did not expect (neither did our protagonist), but at the end it's once again games of people trying to get the throne by lies, tricks and murders.

This was such a wild ride! Everything that I loved about the first book: the dark world, the plot twists, revenge, unreliable characters, betrayal...came back in FULL FORCE! Oh I am so happy that this book lived up to my expectations! Where’s book 3 when you need it 😩🙏

Am I going to have an unpopular opinion?!

What do you mean, this is the best book? What was that ending? It was one of the most rushed endings I've read! Ok, I didn't see that plot twist (if you can call it that!), but that's it.

And the epilogue??? Again, what was that? I don't care about Heather! How can you give me an epilogue that focused on her, I'm confused.

Listen, I had a good time reading it. It had me on the edge, I couldn't put it down, I had some butterflies with Cardan and Jude - which again I needed more romance, where's the romance Holly Black?!

But, I was expecting more! 322 pages. 200 for build up. 70 for some more, and everything- everything - happens in the last 50 pages?! It was rushed, it needed more action, more answers, more and more and more!

I'm still going to read the next one, of course, but my hopes are low. If this is the fans' favourite my god!
