This book had all the wit and humor you can expect from a Jane Austen novel. And it's oddly relatable, considering it was first published in 1817.
The romance in this one isn't as great as Pride and Prejudice (but let's face it, nothing ever will be), although I think this is due to the fact that Jane Austen was probably more focused on the satire and parody of Gothic literature than on creating a mind-blowing love story.
It didn't sweep me off my feet, but this was a light and enjoyable read, and I will continue to aim to be as sassy as Jane Austen.

I do love Austen. This is a particularly optimistic and light novel for her and it has to be one of my favorites :)

It was a fine read. The main characters are not super charming, but I like the side characters. The romance is also kinda added at the end.

What a fantastic read. I found myself laughing out loud at the characters and situations and was thoroughly delighted.
Would recommend to anyone who enjoys the Brontes etc. because the satire is excellent and hilarious.

I think Jane Austen just might not really be for me, don't get me wrong I enjoyed this story (And Emma) but I think the more I read of her works the less interested I am in them.
To me the main problem is that the stakes are so incredibly low, there is no fear of death, harm or horrible event, the worst that might happen is a minor social scandal.
The protagonis is (always) a heroine who has strong morals and she inevitably falls in love with and marries the older love interest who seems to be perfect in all ways.
It's a fun story, it's character's are well done and the social commentary is written with finesse. The issue is that I am simply starting to find the lack of "more" boring.
