The story was good and I’d read more by the author, but the characters were a little off putting and I would not read another book from this series.

Really enjoyed this mystery/murder/investigation book. What really makes it how likeable Addie and Evan are - and of course their friendship. You get to know a lot about them and I felt very invested in the story because of that. I felt like there was about 20% too much Viking history where some of it was absolutely enthralling I wish it had been cut a bit.

This has everything I love in a book: murder mystery, history, lore, a touch of the occult, twists and turns, a fantastic academic consultant/detective duo, and a smackerel of romance. It's giving me Pendergast vibes in the best way. I can't wait to read the next one!

Read this with my wife and it was nice as a filler while we both waited for something else to read. It’s a mystery thriller that did surprise me, but also didn’t feel all that cohesive.
I enjoyed this book, but it was definitely forgettable. It’s been a few months since I’ve read it and I have to think hard to remember the main plot points. That’s pretty much it for me.

This book felt dense.

While the story was well written, there were a lot of non-traditional words that were difficult for me to process. I think I would have enjoyed this story much more in audio form.

I was pleased that the “who-dunnit” aspect was a surprise, but didn’t feel very much satisfaction, or elation at the reveal.

This book was decent, but I don’t know that I’ll continue the series
