The writing in the first one wasn't good but the writing in this one is even worse. It feels so immature and corny. I really disliked the "confession" interruptions bc they were useless and irrelevant. We didn't get an explanation about Trent's major until 53% of the way through and thats way too late in the series to be hearing about Trent's motivations. This author really wants you to know these are men- they have a weird obsession with comparing everything to women or something that women do (when Drew's sister is decorating their house, Drew says to make sure it doesn't look like a bunch of girls live there. So casual sexism and unnecessary comparison to women). You genuinely cannot get through a chapter without the author comparing something that this couple does or explaining something as something a woman would do and it's always broad generalizations that are stereotypical and usually demeaning.
It's just as bad as the first book but in a different way. It's like the author got scared that people would start to think of this couple as being women and so they needed to make sure you understood that these are manly men who are tough and get into fight and are not women.
I debated on even continuing to this one because I was so mad at the first but I do really enjoy the dynamic between Drew and Trent and I really liked the plot lines about the frat drama and coming out in racing so I wanted to see what happened with it.

I did not enjoy this book as much as the first one. It was missing the excitement of racing, and this had more to do with feelings. Which I didn't really mind if it wasn't quite so repetitive. I mean I get men being in love with all, but it got too mushy for my taste at some point.
Also if it wasn't about Trent and Drew gushing for each other, the book had a lot of unnecessary information about different houses that have chairs and tables. This isn't a house and home mag, so I didn't expect it to list so many mundane details.
The book can be condensed and still convey the same thing.

I read #junkie last May we got along fine. I don't know what changed since then, my reading taste, the general scope of things I pay attention when reading or just my mood, but #Rev ground on my gears so much. It felt forced in so many places, also necessarily cruel, I guess in attempt to appear realistic and emphasize the "found family" aspect. I also found it to be repetitive. And honestly a lot of what main characters did to resolve the main conflict felt... petty too me. I do agree that they needed to retaliate but just wasn't vibing with how they chose to do it. So maybe I just wasn't in the mood for this book.
