First off, I LOVED Jessie Ann Foley's writing style in this book. Mia's voice is authentic and refreshing and I love a good three-dimensional complicated woman. This book also took me places I didn't expect it to, which I always appreciate. Some of the decisions made about the ending weren't my fave, but they are really REALLY minor nitpicks. Definitely one of my standouts from last year.

What I love most about Jessie Ann Foley's work is that she captures adolescent voices so well -- and with such respect. That holds true here: Mia is a character I'll remember for a long while.

I only wish the ending was given more space to breathe, but perhaps that's just a sign that I wanted more!
