A few months back I finished Trilogy by Jon Fosse, a novel told in four parts, how to discuss this unusual and melancholic novel, not much to the plot really, the plot follows Asle and Alida as the struggle through a bustling town in Norway as they search for shelter, gives me some nativity vibes with all the constant rejection, but yes, basically, the plot early on follows this young couples' plight as they search for shelter, they need shelter because it is cold, cold and rainy, rainy and cold because it is autumn, autumn in Norway no less, shelter in the bustling town of bjorgvin, one of the most popular towns in Norway, a town on the fjord where the water is shimmering and blue, but it is rainy and cold, and the couple can't find shelter, so they keep searching and searching, because they lost their houseboat, a house on the fjord, where the water shimmers during the summer but gray in the autumn, so they search for shelter all throughout Bjorgvin, shelter from the rain and the cold during autumn, do they find it? perhaps, read and find out. Fosse writes in an unusual style, full of mammoth sentences full of repetition that revolve around a singular subject for the most part, whether it is an item, a feeling, weather, etc... a whole assortment of nouns really, and in doing so it creates a nice hypnotic effect that lulls you in and once on board with his particular cadence, it can be quite captivating, but if the repetition and unending sentences don't work for you then give this one a pass I say, it will be maddening, overall though, I had a great time reading it, great time makes it sound like I was having an absolute blast, I wasn't it, it's not the happiest book, full of melancholy, but like On The Road and his jazz descriptions, Fosse captures the joy of listening and making music quite well on a more abstract level, that I appreciated, no real mechanics were described, but more the feeling of elation that comes with it. Good book, worth checking it out

bastante sorprendida de que me haya gustado, el estilo no ha sido mi fuerte, pero la narrativa sí.

eso sí: vaya bajonazo emocional
