The series is fantastic. It's one of the best comic series I've ever read. Read the webcomic on the site. It has all the author's notes and essays on the worldbuilding. It's great.

The worldbuilding is based upon a mix of the judeo-christian and hindu mythologies. The worldbuilding is the best I've seen in a comic. The sheer amount of detail crammed in each page is incredible. Throne is absolutely teeming with life.

The characters in this comic do grow and change but it is a slow process as change often is. The main cast is wholely female.

There are lgbt relationships later in the series. This book sets the seeds for them. There are however themes of trangsgender transition in the book however it is in regards to a genderless non-human species.

The transphobia comes from said genderless species. This is correctly portrayed as abusive however.

The affirmation of said character of their gender is just now coming to play in the most recent pages on site

The book is a "chosen one" story however it is one of the few using the trope that I enjoy. Realisticly the main character isn't special. She's a normal person. The object she has, is what's special.

It is also her friends that help her in her journey.
