this book was single-handedly the most beautifully heartbreaking thing i have ever had the privilege of reading

i had been putting this book off for a while since i knew it was going to be sad and i think that it would be wise to be in the right mental state to read this

i cried so hard my mum thought something super bad happened

it is a tale about the connection between people and their pets as well as each other throughout everything life throws at us

if you love cats or pets in general then i would highly recommend this read and i will be gifting it to everyone i know, they may hate me but they will love the book so it’s fair

Once again I just wasn't enjoying reading at the time. It was slow and descriptive which is something I didn't like back then but love now. Out of all the books I dnfed this is the one I'd be most likely to pick back up.

If i'd describe this book in one word, that would be "gentle". Such a moving and heart-warming story, without it being too sentimental.
Nana is the beloved cat of Saturo, who all of a sudden decides to find Nana a new home. They travel together in the car from one old friend to another, and the cat and its owner take turns in describing the people they meet and old histories from Saturo's life (from childhood to adulthood), while they travel Japan and learn more about it. In the end, we find out that Saturo is dying, but even in dying he bring love and connection to all the people in his life.
I'm a dog person myself, but this book made me wanna cuttle in the sofa with a cat on my lap. Id I'll ever have a cat, it will be named Nana.
