Immediately dethroned The Sands of Time for my favorite S.S. novel.

One thing I liked about this book was it was different from all the SS novel that I have read so far. It was a breath of fresh air and I liked that the whole message of this book was to save the earth. I liked the idea of an alien invation. However, this book had come short with the perspective of the aliens. I would've liked to see something like a joined forces kind of thing between the alien and Robert.

I think Robert would be my favorite protagonist in SS universe. Lol.

Top list currently
1. The Doomsday Consipiracy
2. The Sands of Time
3. A Stranger in the Mirror
4. Rage of Angels
5. Bloodline
6. Windmill of the Gods
7. The Naked Face

"Trust was the sine qua non." - Good story; awry end!

The Doomsday Conspiracy, a thriller novel by (one of my favorite writers) Sidney Sheldon inspired [a:Dan Brown|630|Dan Brown|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1399396714p2/630.jpg] to write thrillers - The reason that compelled me to read this book all the more!

The protagonist Commander Robert Bellamy of US Naval Intelligence is chosen by the NSA to carry out a secret operation. A weather balloon carrying sensitive military equipment has crashed in Switzerland. Turns out, it's a UFO! A tour bus carrying tourists of different nationalities witnessed the crash, and the aliens. The government doesn't want anyone to know about it. Bellamy's job is to find out who they were, and report the status to the NSA.

Little did he know that after locating witnesses, each one of them starts to die mysteriously. There's a whole lot to the story than it looked to him - Operation Doomsday!

The novel is fast paced and gripping, but the end lay flat. It was almost as if he crafted a good thriller, but wrapped it up quickly. It was absurd.

Second time reading, I was able to predict the plot twist. But still an enjoyable read.
Makes sense why I loved his books 15years ago!
