Bailey is not our typical female lead and you guys I fucking loved it. I am a tad more girly than Bailey, I mean Dirty Dancing is my favorite movie. But I’ll take jeans and chucks over a dress and heels any day. I’m a baseball fan and prefer beer to wine. So I got Bailey, I understood her annoyance with Fiona and Laney.

It was nice to have a character who kept her shit to herself. She didn’t advertise her business even if her friends and family couldn’t help doing it for her. The exchanges she had with Jake were interesting. At first I wasn’t sure what to expect. I mean hello hot and heavy and then Bailey is cold and distant. I really liked that we discovered her at the same time Jake did. We didn’t know something he didn’t.

I won’t spoil it, but kudos for bit where we expected a character to jump to conclusions and they didn’t. #majorpoints Finally we aren’t yelling NO, it’s not what you think!

I really want more of them, but I guess I always do and that’s what a good book does. It leaves you wanting more.

Perfection

I don’t know how this author and these books have gone under my radar, but they are pure perfection! Perfect amount of angst, great humor, and sexy times. Not a huge fan of flash backs, but it was written well in this story. Let’s go on to book 4 now! It’s so easy to binge read this series!

In The Lucky One, we meet Jake, Mark's older brother that we met in "The Spark". After attending his younger brother's wedding, he realizes he has spent too much time running away from his family and decides to move back home. The night of the wedding he met Bailey, a beautiful, stubborn and insecure blonde who has invaded his dreams ever since. After their hot and steamy night, he cannot get her out of his head and he wants to get to know her better.
Bailey couldn't comprehend what Jake would have wanted from her from the get-go, in her words "Guys like this did not look at girls like me". So when he moved back into town she was shocked. Dreams of their night together at the wedding are always on replay in her head too. And here Jake is, trying so hard to show Bailey how he wants to get to know her beyond their one-night stand and break through Bailey's defenses. But Bailey just doesn't know if she can let her walls down and trust him.
But as her best friend Fiona points out, Bailey is working at a job she hates and she's a porcupine. She's closed herself off to men, so perhaps Bailey can look at Jake for the man he is and give him a chance.

The Lucky One is a superb follow up to the previous books in the Carolina Connections series. Each book can be made to be read as a standalone, which is what makes it a true series, but the characters carefully crafted in each book weave throughout each. They are well-written, with rich backstories. Stewart's savvy writing brings us from heartwarming to hilarity which we have come to expect in this series. These books are so lighthearted and fun, I am anxious to see what Stewart has in store for us next.

The Lucky One ( Carolina Connections, Book 3 )
By Sylvie Stewart
5/5 Stars

The Lucky One ( Carolina Connections, Book 3 ) by Sylvie Stewart, is the third book in the Carolina Connections series. It can be read as standalone as well. But trust me, you won't want to. You'll definitely want to read all three book in the series. They are all pretty darn hilarious!! They all are sweet , romantic comedies, you won't be able to put any of them down !! You'll definitely want to learn more about the other characters in the series too.
Bailey Murphy isn't your typical female. She is a tomboy from head to toe. She doesn't do makeup and frilly or girly attire. She would rather sit in comfortable clothes, with a beer in her hand and football on the tv. She's had bad luck in the love department, so that is the furthest things from her mind. Until Jake…
Jake Beckett recently moved back to his hometown and is building his new career. He couldn't be happier with his life now. He has no time for a new love interest. But he can't seem to get Bailey out of his head.
One night together, unbeknownst to the other person… they can't seem to get the other person out of their head. Their connection is immediate. But Bailey is scared that the past will repeat itself. Will it? Can Jake win her heart over once and for all?? Or will she get scared and run?
You Must read this book to see what happens with Jake and Bailey. It will l take you on an amazing emotional roller Coaster full of ups and downs. You'll fall in love with the characters, just like I did!!
Sylvie Stewart's addiction to books, has been a lifelong problem. Carolina Connections is a collection of standalone novels based in her new hometown, it also combines her love of romance, humor and sexy interludes.
You'll loooooove Sylvie Stewart , just like I do!! I'm forever a fan!! Phenomenal job… yet again, Sylvie!!

The Lucky One by Sylvie Stewart is Book 3 in The Carolina Connections series. It can be read as a standalone and the series is contemporary romantic comedy.

I've not read the previous 2 books in the series as yet, but didn't feel disadvantaged at all. The lucky one tells the story of Bailey Murphy and Jake Beckett, they first hooked up at her brothers wedding and Bailey has been avoiding Jake ever since ... until it's no longer possible, with numerous results.

I enjoyed this mostly lighthearted story. The characters were great and the flow of the story was easy to read and get immersed in.

I'm looking forward to reading the preceding books in the series and any subsequent additions.

I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.

The Lucky One by Sylvie Stewart is the third book in the Carolina Connections Series. I was anxious to get to this book since I enjoyed the first two so much. For those who have not read the first two, great news this is a standalone book also. I recommend reading the others so that you have some history with the characters but that is not necessary to enjoy the book. This story is about Bailey and Jake. Bailey is beautiful but is very much a tomboy. She works for her family’s construction business. She holds her own against men and find that she can relate to them well. Jake has just made his way back to his hometown. He is into landscaping but that is not how the two meet. At a wedding, Bailey’s brother’s to be exact, she is feeling very womanly in a dress and heals. She catches the attention of Jake and the story takes off from there.
This is a HEA story like the others in the series but despite the predictable ending is fun to enjoy the ride. The characters are fun but realistic. Bailey is against “girly” things but realizes that she also can enjoy being a bit girly at times. Jake is fun and a challenge against everything Bailey thought she knew. The story reminds us that you never know where your someone special will be. It could be someone you know or someone new. We just have to let our guard down and enjoy the journey.

The Lucky One by Sylvie Stewart

The Lucky One is the third book in the hilarious romantic comedy Carolina Connections series by Sylvie Stewart. These books could be read as a standalone but having read the first two I would highly recommend that they are read in order. They are all amazing books! I have to admit this author has definitely become a favourite of mine; all three of her books have hooked me in from start to finish. The characters are just amazing and I love that their stories continue throughout the other books and how their lives all intertwine so seamlessly. I also like how the ending of one books kind of sets you up ready for the next one too – definitely a brilliant way to keep my interest over a series. This author truly is a fantastic writer and one whose books I will always eagerly anticipate the next release of. They are definitely books that you could read over and over again.
Out of the three books this one for me maybe didn’t flow as easy as the others and that’s maybe because it wasn’t always clear when the characters were thinking back to their first encounter at the wedding however it didn’t make me enjoy it any less. I still LOVED it!! I loved Bailey and Jake even if I did find myself a little frustrated with Bailey sometimes but after a while as I found out more about her I could easily see why she was so reluctant to take a chance on Jake, who by the way is a complete gentleman and I adored him! After what happened with Jake and Mark in book 2 I didn’t think I would like Jake all that much but I did! He was so lovely! After everything Bailey threw at him he still wanted to be with her. I wouldn’t mind being stalked by him!! Some parts of the story were possible a little predictable but I really didn’t care I just love reading about these characters lives!
I am really looking forward to the next book in the series which will be Gavin’s story – I know I am in for more laughs and super sexy times with these characters!

The Lucky One by Sylvie Stewart Rated 5 stars

Laney and Nate Murphy Are on their honeymoon and Bailey Murphy gets stuck babysitting their six year old son, Rocco. Stuck because Bailey doesn't really know anything about children. So she is kinda flying blind. Mark Bennett, her best friend, told her she just had to say “No” and be firm. That didn't end so well for her and hilarious shenanigans ensued.
Jake Bennett meets Bailey, Nate's sister, at Nate and Laneys wedding. He can't believe he missed seeing this gorgeous girl before. He was planning on splitting from the wedding asap. But after seeing her he needs to meet her. After the wedding is over Bailey will not return any calls or texts from him. He is close to giving up on his Irish Girl. Thankfully her friends and his don't want to see that happen.

This story has a lot of laugh out loud moments and smile-to-myself moments. Bailey and Jake seem to be on the same page but yet different pages at the same time. Jake mentions frequently how Bailey runs hot and cold with him and he is unsure where to go from here. Bailey keeps her heart closed down tight and doesn't trust herself to be with a man she has feelings for. When Jake is near her all he wants to do is kiss her….well not all, but the struggle to keep his lips off her is real. After reading about Jake in the previous book I wasn't sure if I would like him. Now I think he is awesome. All the great things he did for Bailey, don't get me wrong he did have a few demons of his own but he does have priorities.
This is the third book in this series (The Carolina Connections) I have read from Sylvie Stewart. This one involves characters from the previous two books. So while is not necessary to read the first two I would recommend because they are amazing and they will further your enjoyment of this one. I still love all these characters. It's nice to touch base with all of them again. The girls still seem tight and the relationships with their men add to this fun. I really, really liked reading about the relationship that Jake and Mark have. They have that fun brotherly love but yet savor the smackdown on each other and always have each other's back. Very enjoyable to read when they have their one on ones.

The Lucky One (Carolina Connections Book 3) by Sylvie Stewart is book 3 in the Carolina Connections series. This book can be read as a stand alone but I would recommend reading the previous two books in this series as they are just as enjoyable. This book is a romance comedy story that has a little bit of everything in it, from a little suspense to hot romance. One thing that I enjoy about this author is her ability to create a book that will keep you engaged until the end. This story will also pull at your heart strings and you will enjoy how these characters really connect. These characters will take you on a roller coaster ride of various emotions that will leaving you wanting more from these characters. Find out what happens when your luck runs out, do you stay and fight or do you run and not look back.

Bailey is a young woman who has been working for her family business. She has her own dreams and plans and they certainty don't include any guy or relationship. She is not your typical woman, she is a tomboy. She has run into some bad luck lately. She has just come out of a bad relationship where she trusted him with her heart and also with her professional pursuits. She has put up walls that she has made sure that no one will be able to break down, no one will be able to touch her heart again, until she meets him. Will one night at a wedding change everything for her? Will he make her do the one girlie thing she never thought she would do, fall in love? Is her luck about to change?

Jake feels like he has it all. He has a great career, a supporting family and building a new life back in his hometown. He has everything planned out and he is right on schedule. He does okay with the women that is until he meets her. Will his luck run out? Will he win her heart over? Will he find a way to break through her walls so they can have a future together?

Bailey and Jake's relationship is one of attraction and connection from the beginning of their relationship. He is persistent with her and she just wants to ignore him. When an opportunity arrives that they are through together, you will just need to see for yourself what happens. They are both strong characters that seem to grow throughout the story. Bailey is the type that knows what she wants and how to get it. She has dreams that she wants to full fill but she needs to find the courage to tell her father. He is just persistent when it comes to her. She is not too receptive towards him but will she be able to stay away from him? When he is forced to deal with and forgive himself for his past, what will he do? They take you on a few twists and turns throughout the book that will leave you questioning and then you have a few situations that will leave you in stitches from laughing. These two really are great together and make this story flow until the end. Find out what happens with Baily and Jake as they either finally admit their love to each other or will they walk away from it all?

This is my third story by Sylvie Stewart and it is my favorite of this series. Each one of her stories just keep getting better and better with every installment of this series. I can't wait to see the next book in this series. Sylvie currently lives in North Carolina with her husband and their children. She can't seem to get enough of the great weather and fun adventures. When she is not writing she is hanging out with her husband and children or reading. You will enjoy how this author has created a page turner that will just keep you turning pages until the end. I read this book in one sitting and couldn't put it down. I highly recommend this story as I know you will want to see what happens with them as much as I did.
