I picked this book for the title. I thought this would be women who had just survived their "horror movie crimes" and were in therapy and it would be how they get through life. That isn't what this was at all. It's interesting that this is the survivors many years later and seeing how each of them chose to cope with the trauma that came from surviving. What isn't interesting is the entire writing of the book. The characters aren't likable, or at least the ones you spend extended time with. The writing is dull and uninteresting. The book drags on and feels like every section you read just isn't worth the payout of the story. After finding out what happens at the end it sounds like the author was going for a surprise bad guy that is so surprising 73% into the book there weren't any hints towards it being them. It really just isn't worth the read in my opinion.

this book had a lot of potential, but it fell flat. there were too many characters to keep track of,
therefore, i did not really feel attached or connected to any of them. the flashbacks/current events were confusing and not clearly marked. it was hard to understand what was happening now, and what was in the past. the plot was also confusing and i thought there was too much dialogue. there was a lot of fluff and things that didn’t matter. yet, there were many plot holes and things that were never addressed. i didn’t understand the world that he was trying to create and found myself confused and lost though out the book. i felt like this book could’ve been longer, but also could’ve been more concise. it was just fine.

the one positive i will say is this book is a good commentary on how women/femme presenting people are perceived in society and treated. women/femme presenting people are more likely to be the victims of violence from men and this book shows that.

Horror is not my genre! Also, the writing in this felt clunky, none of the characters were that likeable and I had trouble remembering who all the girls were.

I had a lot of time on my hands today, so I did read most of this all in one sitting. It was an easy, thrilling story that was very fun and entertaining. I did have a bit of a hard time getting attached to the group of main characters at first, but otherwise this book was a breeze (fast-paced, not light and airy). Some of the details were more graphic than some of his other books. Hendrix nails the tone in the head like always, though. He has a way of writing that sucks you in almost immediately. “Horrorstor”is up next.
