Coasts along for the first half, then races along the second half. A good read.

Clarke writes fiction like it’s fact but in the most digestible way possible. A true ‘What If’ sci-fi, exploring what the future might look like and how we’d behave in those circumstances. Not one for anyone after sweeping plots but it certainly didn’t need one for me to enjoy it!

The plot of this book may be that of a generic hollywood action film -- an asteroid hurtling toward Earth, ready to destroy humanity as we know it -- but Clarke solves problems in his own way. I kept guessing at how the characters were going to get out of situations and I was never right. Even when the typical Hollywood solution comes, it doesn't actually work out like it would in a movie. Pretty entertaining and short enough that it's a no-brainer quick read.

story reminds us the possibility of disaster if an asteroid or comet crossed paths with the our planet's orbit & in such an instance what can us do.

It wasn't bad, felt like a slightly elaborated novella, with a bit of a novel worked through the scene setting. Not surprisingly, when you read the author notes.
That said, it was quite readable, fairly entertaining.
