I really enjoyed this second instalment of the series and it was definitely better than the first book. I am Hungarian, so it was nice to feel connected in a way (since they live in Budapest)& she included a lot more about Greek Mythology in this book which was appreciated. Lemme just say that Lucien is awesome... some have called him 'sigh-worthy' and I couldn't agree more! He is a wonderful combination of characteristics (reminded me of Zsadist from BDB, but less cruel/harsh) and he won my affection early on with his courage and devotion. My favourite things in a book are: Alpha male; strong, capable heroine; and a HEA ending - this book delivered on all! Very entertaining and even threw in some twists I didn’t expect - I always appreciate it when I can't predict things. Much improved from the first book & even though the story and characters are still really reminiscent of the BDB books, this second book has earned it’s own identity and now I can’t wait to read the third….

Now this was what I was hoping for in this series. The first book was good, but it was setting up so much for the rest of the series that it took away from the action and the story. But this book was fantastic, wildly entertaining, sexy, and everything I was hoping for in the first book.

This book is about Lucien (Keeper of Death) and Anya (the Goddess of Anarchy). We met Anya at the end of the last book and I decided quickly that I loved her to pieces. This book only made me like her more. I think this is the first book where I actually liked the female more than the male. Don't get me wrong, I loved Lucien. He's the classic tortured sexy man that I'm always tripping over, but I just loved Anya for some reason. I thought her character was fantastic and her personality was addicting. She's smart, funny, sexy and not the least bit annoying.

In this story, it starts out with Anya watching Lucien. Apparently, even before helping out Maddox and Ashlyn in the last book, she became a wee bit obsessed with the mysterious warrior and has been watching him for awhile. This was her reasoning for helping out in the first place and now she wants to seduce him. Lucien, however, being the tortured soul he is, wants nothing to do with it. He's felt love's sting in the past and wants to stay far away from the hurt it brings. So, he pushes her away at every turn. But Anya is persistent and she does not give up easily...

In addition to Lucien and Anya's story, we get to hear from Reyes and how he's doing. Aeron is still trying to kill Danika and her family, so Reyes is doing all he can to prevent that from happening. Paris also has a bit of story in this one and some interesting things happen to him. I'm not sure what will come from that story line and I was surprised with where Gena took it -- not what I was expecting at all. So we shall see what happens with him in the future books.

Overall, I thought this was a solid story. What I liked is that, instead of being just about Anya and Lucien, the story fanned out to encompass the other warriors. This is what I like to see in a series. It sets up the upcoming books quite nicely, gives us a little break here and there from the larger story, and it's the best way to build characters in a series. So this was super entertaining with a lot of action, adventure, and romance. I'm really looking forward to finally hearing Reyes and Danika's story next so I'm jumping right into it!

Anya is the goddess of anarchy and cursed in an interesting way, she meets Lucien, who is hosting Death and they have to work together to survive, he's ordered to kill her but the attraction is stopping him and she is very distracting.

It's an interesting story but I had some issues with the characters and how they behave with each other. I can't put my finger on it but in certain ways I felt uneasy with some aspects of the relationship

Well this book starts very shortly after the first book finished.

Lucien, otherwise known as Death, is the stoic, calm one of the demons and rarely flies into a temper unlike his friends. However, upon meeting Anya the goddess of Anarchy, he finds that his temper flies and even the though of another man touching her can elicit a tantrum.

Anya was given a curse as a child by the wife of one of the men her husband had slept with. Anya cannot be penetrated by a man unless she wants to be bound to him for eternity. She has lived her life in fear of being taken or raped by a man and losing her freedom. She is feisty and fun, oh and she has a love of stealing otherwise she ends up setting things on fire.

Both find that when they touch each other sparks go off and they cannot stop thinking of the other. An adventure to find relics pushes them together and the sparks fly leading them to see what they would truly give up for the other be it life or freedom.

Do you have to give us such a bitchy and self-absorbed heroine? At least in the first chapter. Total turn-off.

Better than the first one.

Anya is a blast! I love all the nicknames she gives to Lucien. Calling him "Lucy" and "Flowers" being my two favourites!

These books are incredibly easy to read. They are definitely more about the love story of the star couple than a plot driven piece, but there is an interesting background story happening that's just enough to keep you going.

We saw scenes from the POV of two other warriors in this book, Reyes, keeper of Pain and Paris, keeper of Promiscuity, so their stories have me intrigued now too after the little sneak peek we got of happenings in this book. I believe Reyes' story is next and am looking forward to it.
