The only good thing about this book is the ending. Literally at the 97% mark. I don't mind Charles or Anna but it's like PB can't write anything without making women characters victims or SA victims. SA is not the only thing that makes women survivors, resilient or tough. It's old, tiring and just makes me want to not power through this series. The decade the series came out in is not an excuse.

I just love Charles + Anna. Alpha and Omega series is such a comfort read for me.
So Charles is like the "muscle" for the werewolves in the USA. Lately he has had to put down a lot more werewolves than normal and he has some literal ghosts hanging around, messing up everything.
To help distract him, Anna takes Charles to Boston to hunt down a longtime serial killer that's taken to targeting werewolves.
Fair Game was a fun ride with new characters and a delightful, dark mystery.
I liked it a lot. It was a standard Briggs novel - a fast easy read. Loved it.

cw: big focus on a serial killer who rapes and mutilates victims, many of them underage. descriptions of dead bodies.

This is one of my favourite rereads. I get tired of reading books with immature couples and over the top drama so I appreciate Patricia Briggs way of portraying healthy relationships in her books. It makes her writing even more enjoyable because its not always about somebody's hurt ego. I love Charles and Anna's relationship.

Slow to start and for some reason the plot line didn't spark for me. However, at about one third of the way through things picked up (could be me, could be PB). I liked some of the Charles-Anna push pull working through their connection problems. Lots of grimness and abusive behaviour in the baddies of the piece which was rather discomforting.

Mostly left me with a postivive feeling in the end.
