“The Problem Child ” is another clever addition to Michael Buckley’s “The Sisters Grimm Series.”

This was one of my favourite middle grade series growing up and I’m so excited to revisit it as an adult to see how it holds up. The book is just as whimsical as I remembered, taking the classic fairytales and turning them on their heads.

The titular problem child in “The Problem Child” always spooked me out as a kid and still spooks me out all these years later! The third book in “The Sisters Grimm” Series still has its moments of whimsy like the first two books, but definitely starts down a darker path that sets the tone for later books.

Something that I particularly enjoyed was how Buckley used an adult character as a show Sabrina what might happen to her if she continues down the path she’s following (that sounds more cryptic than it is but I’m trying to avoid spoilers). It was well done and helped her character grow even more.

If you liked the TV show “Once Upon a Time” before it went off the rails, I highly recommend “The Sisters Grimm.”
