Easy to read and fall in love with. After all, Poe never lets me down, his tales are one of a kind.

I used to think I was a fan of Poe (I named my dog after him) but after trying to slog through this volume, I've realized that I only like the stories he's famous for.

If you're new to Poe, you'd be better off finding a volume of his selected tales. If you like those and think you'd enjoy the full breadth of his work...well, I imagine this volume will dissuade you of that.

I read Poe's Complete Tales and Poems from start to finish over a number of months. Some pieces were fantastic but others weren't to my taste at all, I wouldn't recommend reading all of Poe's work like this unless you're a big fan. I like his poetry and his horror, I will be rereading these pieces later. Poe writes in a very wide range of styles and was enormously innovative for his time, but I feel that alot of it hasn't aged well. His satire, mystery, adventure and other tales could feel quite dated and I found some of it to be slow going.
