I really loved the characters (well, Piranesi) and the vibes and writing, but this book had so many little things that bothered me. Like the only queer character was the most disgusting and perverse person, and his queerness was in no way relevant and could easily have bern omitted. Obviously you can have bad people who are queer but when representing a minority in a very negative and stereotypical way maybe balance it out with a good character? Just so youre not enforcing the belief that queer men are predatory. Also th  fact that everything was so gendered. If i have to read the phrase 'he or she' instead of they one more time i might just give up on cis authors. Its such a little thing but its just so annoying and ostracising and just promotes this outdated gender binary that theoretically shouldnt even exist in Piranesi's world. This guy cant remember his own name but the human concept of gender binary still rules him?
Anyway thats literally everything negative i have to say about this book ane overall i absolutely adored it
