Will make you think hard. This man wrote in such a poetic way that he was hard for me to understand. But this is what I got, please forgive me if I misinterpreted him:
~Morality is a pretentious social construct.
~Inequality is necessary for human progress.
~God sends to Hell those who do not love him.
~Love is destructive bc of our need for it.
~We're easily silenced by the judgment of others.
~Women are idiots and hard to understand--they also like to cook.
~Unhappy men hold onto happy moments as if they will strangle it.
~Deep thinkers do not wish to be understood.

Okay, tear my comments apart!

This was the first book I read from Nietzsche, and the biggest thing I got from this was that I should definitely read Zarathustra. To me, this book is almost incomprehensible without having done so, and thus requires a re-reading later. Nietzsches concept of perspectivism and the total objection to objective morality is refreshing. My favorite quote from the book is probably

"There is no such thing as moral phenomena, but only a moral interpretation of phenomena"

It starts ok, with some interesting philosophical thoughts, but then Nietzche just gets very offensive and it feels very contradictory and bigoted. I would recommend just researching existentialism on the internet instead.

So misogynistic! I can’t believe that he said that woman’s place is in the kitchen although she naturally does not possess the gift of a good cook, as that requires techniques in physiological analysis that is only given to men.
