I think this may be have been Julia Quinn’s attempt to solve the problem of people calling out her books for not having any people of color in them; but boy oh boy, I’m begging for just one ounce of research. We’ve got micro aggressions galore— against people of color and trans people. I come to these books for a fun little romp but here I am having to listen to the main characters ignorant and annoying thoughts about non-British cultures. Julia Quinn if you’ve got to work so hard to make one of your characters not racist, you’ve got a problem!!
(For extra context in the two books in this series before this one had anti indigenous slurs and a girl thinking slavery is and I quote bad)
