Darwish uses simple languages that makes his poems easy to read yet packed with meaning. The collection of poems follows him as he goes travelling to various parts of the world, his constant romanticization of death and his love for his homeland Palestine.

Darwish’s phenomenal metaphors have changed who I am as a person and I think this author is the new level phase of my childhood’s Gibran

“Identity is what we bequeath, not what we inherit, what we invent, not what we remember. Identity is the distorted image in the mirror that we must break the minute we grow fond of it”

Another amazing compilation of poetry from Mahmoud Darwish, but I feel like I would understand this one much better if I knew more about the history and politics or something. Still an enjoyable read, though!
