it was good, but I expected a little bit more, also the hero annoyed me a lot, but Elizabeth was awesome

DNF at 46%

Life is too short to spend on reading books I have to force myself to get through. I’m giving myself permission to DNF books that feel like a chore to read.

3.5

I really enjoyed reading this overall. However, I rated 3.5 stars because I really enjoyed the first half but found the second half repetitive, a tad boring, and unsatisfying. This is my first Garwood read, and it did make me purchase another book by the author, so there is something to be said about that. I would recommend for a light read.

Okay, I don't if not ever hand out 1-star reviews often, but this book had nothing really happening. Sure, the romantic scenes were steamy and I loved the broody knight and the stubborn princess, but if it had taped into the mystery side of the story, it would've held my attention even more so. It was just bland in the end.
