It was so so good to see some more of the character growth for Barley. Barley is such an underused character and seeing himreunite with his littermates and fight was so good.

Read July 9, 2021.

And we're back! It took me a weirdly long time to get to this one, considering how short it was, but I really enjoyed it! A very cute self-contained story within the bigger arc, and the art was great as always. I appreciated how much thought was put into the background characters, like Rainpaw and Sorrelpaw, making them easily identifiable by their designs. And of course, Squirrelkit and Leafkit were adorable. I love this era of Warriors, before everything went to shit, lmao.

It was nice to get to see Violet too! I've always loved her, for some reason, even though she's such a minor character and is never even seen in the main series. I didn't expect the story to include her at all but I think it's better for it. I like to think that after all this is resolved, Barley comes down every so often to catch up with her. <3

And I know I'm in the minority here, but I do sort of wish Ravenpaw stayed with ThunderClan. I think he just needed some time away from Tigerclaw to become comfortable with himself, and now that he's more confident I think he'd make a great warrior. But I also understand that Barley is happiest on the farm, and where Barley goes, Ravenpaw goes. So, my dreams of warrior Ravenpaw are dashed. Oh well. Perhaps a fanfic for another time.

In any case, I loved this! I might even try to get through the next volume in my reread quickly (another guide, so it should make for short reading) so I can finish up this manga arc tonight! And that would bump be ahead in my reread a fair bit too, I've gotten so behind ;; Until next time!

4.5 stars!
I love seeing Ravenpaw get to interact with Thunderclan again, but am a little tired of Bloodclan related arcs. Nevertheless, this was really enjoyable and getting to see so many of my fav Thunderclan characters drawn out in manga form was awesome!
