This book is still as fun as I remember it from when I was a kid. This narrator is fantastic too. She’s really good at switching from proper English to New Yorker.Â
Graphic: Kidnapping, Animal cruelty, Emotional abuse, Abandonment, Bullying, and Child abuse

Really cute story and easy entry into the fantasy genre for girl 10 and up.
This book was so much fun! While it could be a sad story with Molly living in an orphanage - it was all but that. Molly after all finds a book on Hypnosis, and soon learns - she is a master of that art! So every day they serve her favorite meal now, the head of the orphanage uses panties for a hat, and the bad doggy who is always grumpy is really nice, once she stops him eating cookies and therefore have a tummy ache...
The second half also does lead to a bit of a life lesson and some morals - but not in an annoying way, but neatly fitting into the story and well entertaining.
I absolutely adored that book, and can wholeheartedly recommend it!

this was a middle-grade, nice, often-times funny, lighthearted read that teaches how important the power of kindness can be :)
