Ever since my dad died I have been looking at books that deal with grief and how they express it. Perhaps this book isn't relatable to me because I'm older but the view of grief and loss of someone you love sticking around even after they've died wasn't super relatable to me (I wish it was ). I could see this being a good book to give a child to help them work to overcome grief and to make it clear that their pain is real and others go through loss and to talk about it with others but I found the story a little slow and not interesting, this could be the result of a poor listening experience.

Overall, I see the value of this book and think it could offer something to grieving children.

I kind of felt like this book didn't know what it wanted to be? Like, is it supposed to be a ghost story? It wasn't scary, and it wasn't really even gently scary; I think by the time the reader figures out that the "imaginary friends" are ghosts, it's very clear that they wouldn't want to harm the characters. But then they get them into situations that are straight-up dangerous and I'm just... confused. I'm confused by this book. It wasn't bad, but I have no idea what type of reader this is supposed to be for.
