Big fan of the Cartel series but was definitely confused at the beginning, but then realized I had accidentally skipped the book before it (Long Live the Cartel - I know after reading this one I will be caught up and this book will make complete sense) but otherwise amazing storyline, great characters and loved the mention of past cartel characters. Somehow at the end they always connect the plot to the rest of their universe. So ready for number 2!

Went ahead and knocked it out… I got confused a few times with all of the characters but it had all the twists and turns of the Cartel. Ready for the next installment.

This was a read that I didn’t know I needed in my life. This reminded me that I missed the Cartel cast of characters and their world. This book introduced some new players in the game and I’m loving everything that they have to offer the A & J Universe! This story is definitely drama filled, plot twist filled, conflict filled. It is messy! The fact that you have multiple people out for revenge but romantic feelings get involved, it’s a recipe for disaster. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

I tend to trust and rely on reviews when it comes to choosing which books to read, which is why I picked up this one. Unfortunately, this book did not shine as the reviews said. I almost DNFed it, but decided to keep going out of spite at some point.

The major issues I have with this book are that it violates two key rules when it comes to writing. First, show don't tell. I cannot tell you how annoying it is to read about a book where the sentences follow this pattern: "He did this. Then he walked over here to this room. Then he looked at that thing, which reminded him of this memory." Etc etc. This kind of writing made the sentences feel extremely repetitive and felt as if the authors were trying to reach some unspoken word count and dragged out the sentences as much as possible.

The second rule is a book is suppose to wrap up all (or most of if there's a sequel) of the plot points by the end of the book. Rather than wrapping up most plotpoints and leaving a few cliffhangers for the sequel, the authors decided to throw in a few extra plotpoints for good measure with only a couple pages left in the book and leaving all of the plotpoints unresolved. I cannot express in words how frustrating it was to not have any feeling of conclusion after reading an entire novel.

*If you are sex repulsed in any way there are very explicit sex scenes throughout this book that made me uncomfortable (and I'm neutral toward sex)*

Let's be clear... This is not a Cartel book! We have Cartel pop ups and trust they are awesome pop ups!

The LaCroix sisters are 4 new characters and they did not come to play! Sutton, Honor, Luna aka Gadget, and Ashton. These ladies have a corporate hustle that is making them millions!

West and August Sinclair are brothers... West being adopted into August's family. One night of rash decisions changes the fate of all of these characters. Secrets, lies, deception..... The Coleman's gave us all of that! While it's been a few years since we have felt the impact of this dynamic duo as a unit, it feels as if they never left! Money Devils part 1 was just the entree, part 2 is for sure gonna pack a lunch!
