I wonder if I've read too many ten sci-fi romances. This book has action, romance, and time travel, and its ratings on Goodreads are very high. I liked it, but didn't love it. I found it to be a bit slow at times, and I hoped it would be a standalone story because it didn't seem like there was enough to it to warrant a series.

I received an ARC from NetGalley!

So before I start, shoutout to Jessica Brooks! This lovely lady sent me Loop for Christmas! Go check out her blog here, and you all should totally read her books! (I'm doing a review on Pity Isn't an Option as soon as I finish retyping this one!)

This book though. The cover the time travel and romance. The everything about it. I was dying to read it since Jessica sent it to me. Life intervened, and I've only just gotten to it. But gosh dang, I love everything about it.

The book started out wonderful. Karen slowly brought you into the 23rd century world of Shifters. I get scared with books like these because new futuristic time travelly worlds can be super confusing. But she slowly explained the world to us through Finn and experiences. I understood the world pretty perfectly. I want to be a Shifter though...

Honesty time. I totally fell for Wyck *at first* I probably should have hated him, but I was drawn to him. I shipped him and Bree. I wanted them to be together so bad.

But then...Finn showed up. I guess technically Bree showed up in Finn's world, but I could just tell something awesome was gonna happen between them. I think if an author uses the name Finn that character has to be all nice and sweet and attractive it all just comes with the name. (Like in the Impossible Knife of Memory, Finn was perfect!) Maybe I'll name my son Finn...that'll make him awesome, right?

So so so so much happened in this book. Like SO much. I'm not even going to begin to explain it to you. I'll just ruin everything and accidentally spoil it. But guys, I couldn't stop reading it. It took forever to get through it because school hates me when I'm reading a good book, but every spare moment in class, I read. My teachers probably hated me. I was legit constantly reading.

One night I had some extra time, so I sat down to finish it NO MATTER WHAT. So much happened. The end was amazing. It all just came together. Like almost the entire plot was solved within a chapter or two. It was fantabulous. There's still so much to think about though. There's a huge plot twist with Finn btw.

I forget what I was using this gif for, but I remember I said that something provoked me to laugh insanely at midnight and my parents probably thought I was going insane. Although all of the stupid little jokes and cute things like pegamoos and historical references. They killed me. I'm such a nerd, but understanding them made me proud/happy.

Also, you should totally read Loop because you'll find out who Mona Lisa really is! Plot twist!

BUT WAIT, in the epilogue you find out who Muffy Van Sloot is which ugh...I fangirled so hard during that.

I can't read wait to read more Bree and Finn, guys. (Especially because of the last line in the epilogue) You all should hurry up and read Loop, so we can read Twist together when it comes out on March 31! I can't wait! Go buy them! *makes best attempt at a glare*

Thanks again to Jessica for sending me Loop! *blows kiss* And thank ya to everyone who read this review. You're all lovely, and I love every one of you!

In "Loop," Bree is a time traveler (or at least she is learning how to be a good time traveler) from the 23rd century. She gets into a bad situation where she kind of, sort of, accidentally (of course!) brings a 21st century boy with her back to the 23rd century. This is a huge no-no and Bree knows that she is going to be in big trouble. That is nothing compared to the series of events that is set off once she gets back to her own time. Loop is the first in a planned YA sci-fi series that engaged me from the beginning!

Bree is a great character and was tons of fun to read about. She is independent and is never afraid to stand up for the things that she holds dear. Even more endearingly, she is an absolute mess and botching things seems to be her job at some points of the book. I loved that the story was told from her perspective as it really allowed you to get deeply into the book. I also really liked the story between her and Finn. It was so much fun to read about!

World building is a huge factor for me in any sci-fi book and this book definitely has it in spades. I loved how the author was able to create a world where time travel simply seems like a fact. I loved all of the detail about what Bree's 23rd century world is like and what she thinks about the 21st century. All of the detail really pulled me in.

I was very excited to see that Goodreads already has a sequel to this book listed. I was very sad to see that said sequel doesn't come out until 2015... sigh. Overall, this was a great story with great world building!

First of all, What's with this cover?. A couple kissing. What does it say about this book? Nothing. This book isn't only about romance. It's so much more than romance. It's a book about time-travel and time-travel is complicated. It takes so many twits that you loose yourself. And that's the best thing about time-travel books.
I've been reading so many good books this past week. Bree by is my favorite character.

"Your lips are so cute when you say things that mean nothing to me."

This book took me by surprise.

What with the stress of college applications, I haven't had much time to read, and when I finally did, I just wasn't in the mood for something intense and mildly stressful like A Torch Against the Night. So, in desperation, I picked up this book in hopes that I would finally be able to finish something, expecting a cute, fluffy story about time travel.

Ask and ye shall receive. But it was more than just cute and fluffy.

Loop is surprisingly complex. I don't know how Karen Atkins managed to plot this out without giving herself a headache, because thinking about it too hard certainly gives me one. There are future versions and present versions and past versions of people interacting all throughout time, and although there were many times when I was extremely confused, it was always because I was supposed to be confused. By the end, everything had clicked together.

I absolutely loved it.

Perfectly plotted, hilariously written, and wonderfully adorable. Now I must read the next one. Please let it be as surprisingly awesome as this one was...
