This book was so slow. It wasn't thrilling - there was no suspense or tension. It wasn't awful. The concept was decent.

I found the audiobook delightful. The story had a Real Housewives meets Desperate Housewives vibe. I didn’t suspect the ending, but do think it was the best way to wrap up the story.

I realize I’m probably being a dick as I think this, but my main complaint about this book is that the author is from WI, doesn’t live in the south, and seems fairly blaze about the guns. Like. Is the south that way about guns? Yes; we are. But you know what? As someone who fucking lives in WI (especially where she maybe lived, since apparently her other novel uses geography near me), WI is just as fucking pro gun. I also disliked having to read certain scenes twice in this one.
But I fucking love a friend group coming together to murder and take down a crime ring though, so…. My pettiness is what makes this not rated higher.

I feel like a person below had a great description which was “Long walk for a short drink of water.” It’s real house wife with a murder at the end. I was interested in the beginning and liked the end.
However, I think not knowing who was murdered until like the last 5 chapters is ridiculous. Like it was pretty obvious it would be Olivia but it was just too much filler. I felt at the end I was craving more info on the murder and the people that did it life after it and I only got like 2 chapters of that.
Also couldn’t stand the voice for Karen in the audiobook.

This was not what I would call a thriller per say but the suburban wives drama with a side of murder is so fun. The villians are so caricature-y but in a way that makes everything so intensely dramatic. Every time x character did something I thought they couldn’t be any worse and I was wrong. But I had a fun time with it.

A mediocre murder mystery made better by excellent narration.

I saw this book described as Desperate Housewives meets Big Little Lies and was immediately intrigued. And, indeed, I really enjoyed the drama, the pettiness, and the manipulation. However, I think presenting this as a thriller is not the way to go. If you’re looking for a standard thriller, I would look elsewhere. If, however, you’re looking for a book about rich women and their social lives like I was, then give this book a try!

The plot was intriguing enough but I felt there was *a lot* of buildup for a very rushed climax that happened mostly off page.

I really enjoyed listening to this book. Great narrators and there were some unexpected twists. Not quite 5 stars because I wasn’t blown away but o enjoyed the drama and mystery!
