Flashpoint is a storytelling masterstroke that strides just inches shy of legendary status. Geoff Johns has all the ingredients -- amazing action, incredible narrative, a plot twist for the ages, Kubert's pristine art, and opportunity to reinvent everything in a flash. Every tool, he utilizes to its maximum.
Each element of the Flash's temporal tragedy is balanced precariously, but near-perfectly to produce a blend of blockbuster and drama that represents DC at its best. For me, its only glaring flaw is that it wasn't given enough pages to shine in all its glory. Otherwise, Flashpoint stands as one of my favorite comic book tales of all time.

Graphic: Child death, Violence, Death of parent, Fire/Fire injury, and War
Moderate: Confinement, Genocide, Xenophobia, Murder, and Injury/Injury detail

I had a good time reading this comic, the art was absolutely beautiful, and I loved the alternate takes on pretty much every single character. The only complaint I had is, I wish it was a bit longer. I can't help but feel a lot of the emotional moments lose some of their impact because we just don't spend enough time with the characters. More scenes with Barry and his Mom, Shazam and the kids, and especially the final battle sequence which felt like it ended a bit too quickly.

So, Flashpoint.
One of the most famous Flash stories - recently covered (briefly) in the DC TV series of the same name, during season 2.
In which Barry Allen wakes up at his desk to find the world he knows has changed drastically: there's no 'Man of Steel, nobody has ever heard of The Flash, and Wonder Woman and Aquaman are at war with each other.
All of which, over the course of the story, eventually comes to be because of a single change in the past, with that oen chagne leading to a domino effect and creating this world.
Reading this, it's also not hard to see why it is one of the more famous Flash stories and is (currently) rumoured to be the foundation for The Flash's upcoming Big Screen debut ...

Solid
Nice little read. I’d like to see more stories set within this timeline and how things came to be. I also very much enjoyed this incarnation of Batman, if only we could have seen a bit more of him.

Holy cow this book was incredible! I've never read much of The Flash, but this gives me reason to. The whole story is a picture perfect example of why changing the events of the past. Wonder Woman at war with Aquaman. Batman is Thomas Wayne instead of Bruce. Barry Allen has no powers. It was gripping and emotional. I couldn't put it down. I cannot wait to read the Superman and Wonder Woman spinoffs. I can't state enough how awesome this book was. MUST READ!
