Matrix, Walking Dead, Terminator rolled into one pretty badly written story.
The "techie" expert soups up a laptop by putting a SSD drive into it. I got a pretty good chuckle out of that. The rest of the story is one simile rolling into another from sentence to sentence.
Not something I found exciting or semi-believable. I could not sympathize with any of the characters but I have to admit that some of the sillier lines they said brought a grin to my face at times.

I made it to page 100. This book has now contributed to my "I am allowed not to finish every book just because" challenge.

It's basically a high school drama, but with hackers. Like some school kids were made to go on a basketball/art/singing/any_activity camp by their parents, and now they have to deal with mean teachers and mean cool kids. Idk, may be it gets better later on, but I don't care to find out.

Should be ok for long plane trips though, the writing is pretty swift and paced.

Great concept, but it really takes a left turn about halfway through the story.

More formulaic than some of his other books. Solid techno thriller

Got an email from Bookbub whem this was really cheap as an ebook and snatched it up, blurb sounded interesting. Had this for quite a long time before finding the interest to start reading.

Beginning reads good. Hopefully for once not a DNF?!

I very much enjoyed this one. The characters were great, and their dynamic was fun. It's an interesting blend of some really horrifying elements with some lighthearted, on point bantering, which I enjoyed. Kept things from getting too annoyingly angsty. Plus, the whole concept is pretty killer, by far the scariest machine takeover scenario I've come across in some time.
