I love this series, but this one was a HUGE miss for me. OMG in what universe is it remotely romantic to have a hero whose wife is still alive (was hit by a drunk driver in a vegetative state for the past five years) then add pages and pages of him sitting by her bedside expounding on how she was the love of his life. Going over all their memories and special moments together. Feeding her etc. How the hell am I NOT suppose to feel like the heroine is second best...sigh.

If that wasn't bad enough, he wants the heroine but won't sleep with her, but we get a lovely scene of him sleeping with some other chick. Who he treats like a cum depository with no warmth or feelings. He calls her to be ready in ten minutes (this after sitting with his wife and reminiscing) when she opens the door and suggests they talk or take a walk. He yells at her to get naked and on the bed that isn't what they signed a contract for. Then he slaps on a condom and shoves it in. Of course, the other woman is all happy because her husband walked out on her for another woman (?) and I guess she should feel special that this asshole hero gives her the time of day??!!

Then, of course, the wife conveniently dies at the end (the first time the heroine even finds out he is married) and the heroine attends the funeral with him. Oy vay...

Another amazingly heartfelt installment of the 'Doms of Genesis'!!!

After a horrifyingly abusive encounter with (the super-hated) Master Kerr, Mercy (a.k.a. Symone) is trying to find her footing at Club Genesis. From the first, Mercy has been intrigued by Kellan (a.k.a. Sir Justice) and is well aware that he's been eyeballing her. Unfortunately, he's yet to make a move and she's almost given up hope. The two unexpectedly encounter each other outside of the club and Kellen is forced to interact with the fiery sub and take her under his wing.

Even though this is a novella, the author gives so much background and detail to the story and it feels much longer than it actually is. I also love how emotionally invested I got with these characters. Kellan's reasons for staying away from Mercy are valid (and heartbreaking!) and Mercy is such a strong character who doesn't want to take 'no' for an answer...even after the terrifying situations she's had with Kerr.

I love this series and can't wait for the next book!!!

ARC kindly provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Honestly, I’d like to know what it is about the BDSM world that lets people think that characters can’t grow and develop into better people?
I gave this book 2 stars for the sex and build up. But even that feels like a stretch.
Kellan is not a role model any Dom should have. And Mercy deserves a better story, better Dom and a better life as a Submissive.

The book was OK, but the heroine was annoying and the hero was just not what I go for.

It just sorta fizzled out and a major plot point was forgotten.
