I enjoyed this story of two couples who are approaching 50 and having mid-life/mid-marriage crisis. Three of the four people have known one another since college and lots of things come up from their past to confuse their present. Meanwhile their very different children start to get very close to one another.

I was expecting a funny romance because of the cover (and I knew nothing else about the book) but it's nothing like that but it's probably better.

this definitely one of my favorite books of the year already. it took me a while to read but the short chapters helped! i really enjoyed the six characters in their own ways and how the intertwined story unfolded. HIGHLY recommend because it's filled with raw emotion and real flawed imperfect people

Took me a while to get into this book. Overall I liked it but it just wasn’t my favorite. The ending was the best part.

I went back and forth reading/listening to this book. Though I put it down several times, I knew I wanted to finish it. I'm glad I did. The narrator of the audiobook did a great job with voices.

A very OK book: sweet and entertaining, but not particularly profound or memorable. Straub’s prose was the star with some resonant metaphors and language, but the characters and the story fell flat for me.

Freaking loved it!! Emma Straub is one of my new favorite writers. She does such a marvelous job of breathing life into these characters, and I can't get enough of her novels!

I thought the book was good. Fine. Interesting. It left something lacking. I don’t think its a bad book i just don’t think its my preferred style.
