I honestly hated this & I’m absolutely disgusted by it too. Firstly, the whole plot of this series is unoriginal, as it seemed like a bad copy of ACOTAR with a Bible story thrown in & adapted into a fantasy plot for good (well actually bad) measure. Then there were so many plot-holes & features that were dismissed or caused the plot itself to be hugely disjointed. And then finally… making my blood run cold & me to feel physically sick, was how the resolution to the climax of the story became pure sexual assault & RAPE! It disgusts me so much that the author believed that was an acceptable plot, & I’m so confused that I’ve never heard any criticism of it before. I would absolutely not touch this series, in no way recommend it & with finality will not be continuing with the rest of the series. It’s devastating that the latest book only came out a couple of days ago (this year in 2022!) & yet people continue to recommend it, despite the vile intents. With certainty I can say this will be my worst book of 2022. 🚫

The books could definitely use a better editor and that’s putting it nicely. That being said, there are some underlying complexities that were surprising. I laughed, I cried, I felt tense, I enjoyed it. I think if you can get past the wandering, stream of consciousness writing, this is an exceptional feminist (sorta) adult fantasy series.
