This was a really fitting conclusion to this series. I loved getting to see more fates and how they interacted with the main characters and each other. I want to much more lore about the fates! The stakes were high and plans failed along the way, which was very stressful. I felt like the two love triangles got kind of old though, and this book spends more time on the romances than the other two books, which wasn’t my favorite. Lots of good twists and turns though, and it left me wanting more!

i’m happy we got Scarlett’s POV back and i think i’m in the minority when i say i enjoyed her part of the story much more than i did Tella’s.

Wait…hold on…do I have a new favorite series?

Do I dare admit that this is my favorite series?

Yes

Yes, I do believe that the Caraval series is my favorite.

I can’t wait to re-read this series again! The romance! The villains! The sisters! The magic! Everything about it was just *chefs kiss*.

Can I touch on Scarlet’s and Tella’s relationship really quick? It reminded me so much of my relationship with my younger sister and maybe that is why I loved this book so much! “There is nothing quite so precious as the love of a sister” when I read that line I started to cry! The whole prologue of Finale is one of my favorite things I’ve ever read!

Well done Stephanie Garber! Bravo! I need to order Once Upon a Broken Heart immediately! Her writing style and storytelling ability is amazing! But my favorite thing about these books were the descriptions! I have never seen so many unique adjective and such magnificent imagery.

The descriptive parts might even be better than the exciting, action filled, plot driven scenes!

No, that’s not true…but I loved every word, when in other books I often just skim the descriptive paragraphs.

Ugh! I’m so sad this series is over!

Okay so I read the first book Caraval, like 2 years ago and then bought the next two but I never actually got around to them until now. As with many series, this got worse as we went farther along. I loved the first book and I loved the idea of the game but by Finale, it kind of got to traditional YA fantasy where the main character has to save the world and the usual love triangle. The book wasn't bad but it was basic. I also really hated the constant theme of blood and exchanging and drinking blood it was honestly kind of weird. Overall, it was pretty good but Caraval was the best. I'm going to read Once Upon a Broken Heart and I'm excited to see Jacks's character development.
