Fabulous

Yet another book that's been on my tbr list for quite some time, but I just never seemed to get around to reading. I am so glad that I finally did, it was fantastic. I've always had a thing for Greek mythology, and this was something that was different enough to stand out. What a fantastic read!

I'm always a sucker for a Greek god book, and this one was fantastic. It's full of action, adventure, swoon worthy guys and romance that makes you go oooooh. Not to mention a kick butt Main character who I'd like to be my new best friend. This book was an exciting start to a promising new series and I can't wait to see what happens in the next installment

*I voluntarily reviewed an advance readers copy of this book. All thoughts expressed are 100% my own

When I first picked up this book, it wasn't really vibing with me. I couldn't pin point exactly the reason why it's not working for me. Perhaps it the FMC? Or maybe I don't like the MMCs enough? The first chapters were confusing? The writing style? The overall trope and plot? I have no idea. Anyway, I decided to take a break from it and just come back later. Unfortunately, that later didn't arrived. I haven't opened this book again and I don't think I'm going to anytime soon. For my peace of mind, I simply dropped it. Maybe I'll try and read this again... or maybe not.

The book isn't bad and I enjoyed the story but it bugs me that basic things in very fabric of the myths of the Greek gods is changed like Zeus was the youngest of his siblings and Hades was the oldest. Why you wanna go and screw that up? I could forgive Hades not wanting to think of Persephone's mother in bed or it being her mother and ignoring that it is also his sister because then he must think of the fact his wife is his niece and that is a whole other can of issues to unpack but you can't just be changing the order of birth! It's part of Zeus's very back story that he saved his siblings from their father because as the youngest his mother knew what his father would do and so was able to trick him so that Zeus was able to escape the same fate as his 5 older siblings of being swallowed why would you mess with that and change the very fabric of them.

First of all: "This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review."

This book is not my usual cup of tea. But it was fun. Pure brain candy.

If you're looking for a deep plot with twists and turns, look elsewhere. Likewise if you seek deep characters with lots of development and layers of complexity.

But if what you're looking for is entertainment that leans to the irreverent and definitely NSFW, this is your book.

Imagine being given the gift of some of the abilities of the gods - strength, speed, endurance, and three additional lives. All with a purpose to defend and protect the humans on Earth. That is the case with Elyse. Her family line, the Lowes, has been given this gift, but it is a gift that comes with a heavy price. With each generation fewer and fewer fight the good fight to protect humanity. So many have died and now Elyse is the last who still fights the mythical monsters that come and run amuck. Something big is coming though and Elyse is the one who stands in the way. She must win or the world will suffer behind her loss. But is she strong enough? Two gods showing up only go to complicate things in her life as she feels an intense attraction to them and resisting? Well, that's not exactly in the cards. Elyse is in for the fight of her life, but things will be far from boring! In fact, things will get downright steamy and complicated!
Apollo is Mine by Mila Young is the first book in her Harem of the Gods series. When you start reading this book clear your schedule because you won't want to put it down and you'll have devoured it before you know it. Elyse is an engaging character from the beginning. She's training hard to become faster, stronger and fiercer so that she can stand up to anything that comes at her. Heracles is the ones training her and I like that he is so focused on helping her get stronger. He knows what is at risk for her and that she must be ready for when it comes. I like the dynamics between the two characters. The author has basically set strict boundaries between them and there is no hint of romance or attraction. Part of me wants to pout at this but, I get it and it works. Haha! I love how sparks fly between Elyse and the other characters though! It's intense and I love it! Death aka X is intense! I get the shivers when he shows up because you just KNOW that something bad is about to happen. This book is intense and I love it!
There honestly isn't much that I don't like about this book. My only tiny issue is...when Elyse starts calling...these interactions with the men..." relationships." They're not. The only thing that has transpired is sex...so for me...I can't honestly call that a relationship. But that's me! Otherwise, I could not get enough of this book.
I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. This book is fast-paced, exciting, STEAMY, hard to put down and just downright awesome! I am beyond excited for the next book in this series. If you are a fan of this author...grab this book. If you like steamy reverse harem novels...grab this book. If you like mythology...grab this book. Just basically...grab this book. You won't be disappointed. LOL
