It was a light fun read! The couple had a lot of chemistry and it was a perfect book to turn my brain off!

I hated this book and I don’t know if it’s because I discovered I hate the fake dating trope or because I hated most of the characters in this book. I think the one part of the book that worked for me was the relationship between the two main characters, but it wasn’t enough to salvage everything else. I have taken everything by this author off my to-read list though.

This was perfect! Exactly what I needed right now!

I wanted something lighthearted and all the side characters are so over-the-top in the best way possible so that was perfect. But also everything between Luc and Oliver was so so good and pure and ugh I love it! (probably helped that I'm newly in love myself)
And I'm honestly in awe of Hall's ability to make this not extremely cringy. So good!

Kinda shocked by all the glowing reviews? Lucien is a miserable, insufferable twat and Oliver deserves so much better. There’s not nearly enough character work done to convince me of why Oliver is into any of this. I get it, luc had a shit dad and it messed him up but you don’t get a free pass to be a dick forever because you have daddy issues. Get some therapy, my guy. There is some truly fantastic banter at times and nearly all the side characters are wonderful but it’s not enough to save it.

Also, Lucien makes him a **bacon sandwich** after they make a point the WHOLE book to clearly say that Oliver doesn’t consume meat for moral/ethical reasons, and Oliver is just like “yeah gimme that bacon” ???? What is happening
