It's been a long time since I devoured a contemporary romance in one day, that's a testament to Melanie Harlow, I could not put this down.

Came for the bodyguard trope, stayed for the protective ex-military, touch her and you die, cinnamon roll for her hero. I've never loved the celebrity/singer trope so much!

AND YOU MUST READ THE BONUS EPILOGUE ON MELANIE'S WEBSITE, I could read about Xander and Kelly forever ♡

TROPES
Bodygaurd x Celebrity, Small Town Romance, Protective Hero, Country Singer Heroine, Friend's Little Sister, One Bed, Forced Proximity, Ex-Military, Touch her and you die, Cinnamon Roll for her

i typically love melanie’s books, and while i love this specific trope (famous person / body guard) i didn’t love this one :/ i don’t know if im in the middle of a reading slump or what but this book was boring to me

Hideaway Heart was such a pleasant read. I was so excited to dive back into the Cherry Tree Harbor Series and this second standalone novel didn't disappoint. I was instantly attracted by the bodyguard/celebrity aspect of the story, but also the forced proximity. Let's just say that this combination created a romance bursting with humor, sweetness and FIRE!

Kelly was so down to earth despite her famous status as a country music singer. I enjoyed all the banter with Xander. That man was so protective and sweet under all his harsh exterior. This couple had the perfect chemistry! I found myself laughing at their antics, but also swooning over the romantic moments. The sexy times were scorching hot too.

It was really nice to get scenes with Xander's siblings that I got to meet in [b:Runaway Love|123244793|Runaway Love (Cherry Tree Harbor, #1)|Melanie Harlow|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1680950130l/123244793._SY75_.jpg|144601492]. I love this fictional family and can't wait for more book in the series.

Funny how Xander had made all the difference after I’d tried so hard to get rid of him. Now I was so grateful he’d come into my life. Guess I’d have to rewrite our song.

i recently realized that I've read a bunch of books that belongs to a series and I've only finished aggtm's so here I am back at Cherry Tree Harbor! and this was really cute but austin and veronica's is still my fav. so happy to see them again on this one.

i still enjoyed the bodyguard trope. xander is so clearly written by a woman and kelly reminds me of my only fav country singer but she's redhead lol. also! i really loved the dual pov here.

I was so excited to be back in this cute town after reading the first book! This one wasn't as good as the first book, but I still had so much fun reading it and really enjoyed it. I have a hard time sometimes getting behind an ordinary person/celebrity love story, but I did love Xander & Kelly together! Sometimes I forgot Kelly was famous, so it made their love more authentic for me. Xander was hired by Kelly's brother to be her bodyguard for her little vacation/hiatus she was taking in a small town by Cherry Tree Harbor to get away from her crazy famous life. The bodyguard aspect of the book made me swoon, Xander is just so goooood.
