Gracias Camino a casa, por recordarme lo poderosa e ingeniosa que puede ser la literatura para las infancias.

You know it's coming but the last page is two tons of bricks. Powerful and understated.

I'm glad I didn't know much about this book before I read it. I think this book can be used in multiple contexts and a variety of inferences can be made.

The ending hits you in the feels. Better for elementary students because of the deep message.

Very deep meaning for so few sentences. This book is not based around a specific culture, it is just a girl who lives in a country that is probably not the US, loving her everyday reality. The pictures speak more than the words. It may be touch for kids to understand the father’s role and the lion metaphor by themselves.

Lovely book about a difficult topic. Appropriate for a storytime, and will open up discussion about the realities of life for many children South America.
