Ok, this series is quite unique with peculiar characters. Funny at some points, and terrifying at others.
This specific book is hilarious though.
Dex's mind and way of thinking are quite incomprehensible to the ordinary person. These characters are far from normal, so it is not a surprise that Hammer falls so easily for the newest quirky junkyard resident. Dex messes up almost everything and Hammer needs to clean up after him... and he does it and he claims Dex as his in the end.

Funny, Fun and Quirky... We cannot get enough really!

Thank you @gayromancereviews for the copy.

Trigger warnings: Orgies and sharing on top of violence, murder, gore, and other shady stuff. I just wanted to mention that first, and we will come back to it later.

It’s not secret that I like my books with a side of dark stuff and that I love the really obsessive and possessive characters that come from books in this genre. And I happen to think that K.A. Merikan are some of the best at putting these things on page, so I was so excited to read this book. I read the blurb of this book and I was so excited to read it, it just seemed like this book would be the most perfect book for me to ever exists, but sadly it just wasn’t, we will come back to that later too.

Brief summary
Dex is obsessing about this really hot guy named Hammer. Dex keeps hitting on him but Hammer is straight and not very interested. Hammer ends up kidnapping Dex. And they end up falling in love with each other.

This was a super enjoyable story. It hit all of my favorite things, with the bi-sexual awakening and the kidnapping and the push and pull until they got together. I just adored all of those things so much. I just thought that they made the book so much fun to read and I had a lovely time reading this book because of those things. This book wasn’t very dark in terms of content (I like pitch-black books so don’t trust me on this one) but it was just the right level that I find very interesting to read and that really pulled me into the story and just made me want to keep reading.

The characters in this book were just absolutely fantastic. I adored both of these guys so much. I’m absolutely in love with Dex. Dex is pretty much a himbo that really loves a good dick, and I adored reading about his obsession with getting Hammer to fuck him in any way possible. I just thought that he was such a fun character to read about, and I was absolutely obsessed with his character arc. I just loved his persona and I thought that it made the book super fun to read. And I adored Hammer so much. Hammer is a sociopath who prefers murder to most people, and I thought that that was super lovely to read about. I also love reading about a good sociopath and Hammer was just the right kind of obsessed and murderous for me.

Also, I really adored how the bi-sexual discovery was done in this book. This book had a lot of talk of Hammer thinking about how he wants to live out his sexuality and how to challenge his masculinity with how he likes to have sex. A lot of the scenes in this book were him realizing that his masculinity is not tied to the fact that he likes sucking dick or not and I thought that that was a really refreshing topic to read about and I really enjoyed all of these talks.

Also, Hammer and Dex are super obsessed with each other and possessive of each other and I loved all of these talks so much. I always love obsession in my books, and I thought that the one in this book was super lovely. They were both so obsessed with each other and I loved reading all about it.

Dex and Hammer were super good together too. I loved all of their interactions so much. I thought that they were the perfect foil for each other and they had super good banter, so I really enjoyed reading about their time together because I thought that it was all super fun and enjoyable.

I think I mentioned it before but I don’t really enjoy longer books because I don’t have a good attention spawn, but I absolutely adored K.A. Merikan’s writing, and I feel like their books always go by super quickly and that they are very easy to read. I was very invested in the story in this book, and I just wanted to keep reading it. I found this book so much fun to read.

Now for my sections titled But ….. When I read this book, on the day it was released, there were no trigger warnings about this, so I went into the book not knowing that it would ever happen. Trigger warnings have now been added for this, but I wrote this part of the review when they weren’t there. So, I wanted to say thank you very much to the authors for adding these trigger warnings to the blurb, but since I read this book before I saw the warnings and did not know about it at the time I read the book, this section of my review is about that.

And I know that there are some trigger warnings about this now, but they are very non-descriptive and just mention that there are scenes of events happening at adult parties, which could mean many things and not only a full-blown orgy, so I just wanted to mention this still, as I feel like an orgy is different than many other scenarios that could happen at adults parties. While I am very grateful for the trigger warning we did get, I just feel like they could be a little more descriptive, as when I think of adult parties, I think of many other things, like exhibitionism, voyeurism, chains, ropes, public sex, but I don’t really imagine orgies as the first event, but that could just be me. I’m still glad there is a warning about this now and I want to thank the authors for adding them, I am very grateful for this.

This was a good book and I clearly really enjoyed reading it. But I just want to mention something, this book has the characters engage in an orgy at 40% into the book (a full-blown orgy, in a lot of details as it’s all happening on page too) ….. There were no trigger warnings about that, at all. I have said before that I don’t really like reading about sharing and orgies and prefer monogamy in my books, so that’s on me for not enjoying that scene. But I had no clue that that scene would even be in the book since there was no mention of it anywhere in the book’s warnings. But this book had no trigger warnings about this at all, which I found that I really would have preferred it to be because it really startled me to start reading about an orgy when I didn’t expect it to be there in the first place. So yeah, I can understand why the orgy happened and everything sure, but I would have liked to have a triggered warning to warn me that it was there. Because it’s as if I was walking around my town and then I really stumbled upon an orgy in an alley and was forced to watch it when I had no intention of even being there. I just wanted to know what was happening in the book before I started reading the book, so I could prepare myself to read about it.

Also, some people (including me) just do not like to or physically/mentally cannot read about orgies in their books and it can be triggering to read about, so a trigger warning on this kind of content would be really appreciated.

I found that some things in this book just weren’t really explained, and I would have liked more clarity on them because I was quite confused while I was reading, and I kept asking myself questions.

First, I just want to mention that this book never makes it clear if the characters are monogamous or not after this scene, which is fine, but I would like to know instead of wondering because I could never ping their couple because of it. This part of the book just felt a little undeveloped for me. One second, they were super possessive of each other and saying that they only want each other and to only be together (and even beating up guys who tried to get with the other) and the other second, they were saying how hot the orgy was and how they would do it again. I understand that monogamy isn’t needed and that it’s up to the characters to decide what they want to do, but I wish that they decided it on page because it wasn’t ever very clear to me, and I felt like I couldn’t ping their couple and what they like because of it. Which made me feel like I never really got to know these guys as a couple. And I just felt like there was a disconnect because of how possessive of each other they were, and the way that they talked about being into orgies, and I wish that their preference was clearer because I just wasn’t sure what they wanted in the end.

But also, the ending of this book just was so unclear to me. I felt like a couple of scenes were missing because I had absolutely no clue what was happening. I was reading and just kept wondering how things happened and how we got there, and it was never explained to me in enough detail for me to understand it. Maybe I’m a little slow on the uptake on this one, but I just felt like I needed more details and like the book ended really abruptly and not in a natural place. I really would have liked a couple more scenes toward the end of this book.

Overall, this was a very fun book with a lovely premise and I’m very much excited to read the next book in this series. I love the premise of this series and I keep my fingers crossed that I absolutely adore the next book in the series because this was so close to me.

I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest opinion.

Love it!!

Hammer and Dex's are a perfect match (grumpy/sunshine). And I just love everything about DeX. I would always tear up whenever his self esteem was his issue or whenever someone else made him feel so horrible. The sex is great. Wish I had a little more detail with the orgy. And wish there was more to the epilogue. It didn't really give to much of their future. Overall great book. And great book cover.

This book is a long read  and by the end I had nearly forgotten the beginning because it takes you on one big adventure. This book will be no good to you if you are squeamish and not a lover of blood because a lot of blood is spilt and as the story unravels  you become quite immune to barbaric violence and bloody deaths; it almost feels normal just another day in the life of these two MC's. Dex is a wound spring who bounces around never sure which direction he will go. He brings fun and chaos to the story. Hammer is a strong and clever character who is intense and focused. Dex definitely brings Hammer's sexy side out. The sex is intense and rough, and hot to read; no skimping on details.  This story is centered around a motorcycle club, but due to an incident the majority of the story is focused on the two main characters. This book was well written, held my interest and the characters were great. It's a 5 star read, but only if you can normalise the violence whilst reading it. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Dex is one of those people who light up a room. He's personable, a bit of a himbo, and always ready to make someone laugh. Another thing he's always ready for is a good dickin. I don't think I've ever read a book with an MC who loves to be used as much as him. Thankfully, all the sex in this one was consensual. I'm not a big fan of full stop noncon and since there was no TW for that I felt safe going in.

Hammer was a dark man. But his darkness matched up perfectly with Dex's light. On paper they sound ridiculous, but in reality they sort of balanced each other out. Dex made Hammer smile more and never caused him to feel judged for his kinks and interests like many others. He helped make him more approachable. For Dex, Hammer was a firm hand to help him focus. He too never judged Dex for his issues. And it also helped the man liked to fuck just as much as him.

There is plenty of filthy sex to be devoured in this book if you haven't already guessed from my review so far. However, and it pains me to say this, but I have to agree with many of my fellow reviewers. This book was way too long.
