This was an engaging read for me, and I’m not usually a fan of the friends-to-lovers trope. To do it well, the author has to convincingly show (1) why they have been friends for so long without more and (2) a triggering event that changes their dynamic. I don’t think the author explained either particularly persuasively, but if you like this trope you will probably enjoy the book. It is almost entirely first person POV with the female main character, but she has a good voice. It’s a very cozy book to read when it’s cold outside, as there are lots of rapturous explanations of cold weather and holidays, etc. It made me wish I was reading it while in a cabin next to a crackling fire with snow lightly falling outside.

This was a super cute, classic Holiday romance. I loved their friendship, and I loved watching it blossom into their relationship. I hope we get more stories with the town they were funny.
