I actually really loved the writing style — gillian flynn is popular for a reason, after all. a gift with words, a master of her craft. but for some reason that I can’t pinpoint at the moment, I wasn’t feeling it

It’s not bad technique   Wise but it is a chore and while I found Ben interesting I hated his chapters and I feel like the book didn’t take seriously how long it takes to suffocate someone to death it’s not a accident death but incredibly premeditated. I thought Libby was interested though.

This book is so creepy, freaky and gruesome.

This author does not shy away from explicit murder details and scenes. It was one hell of a ride. I really enjoyed it.

Ben is freaking stupid and his actions were legit messed up but by the end idk man. The author has a way of playing with ur mind.

I hate Diondra. Have hated her from the beginning. What a bitch. And by the end omg I was ready for her to die legit. I can’t believe she kills Michelle. I did not see that coming. Even runner man. What a dickhead.

Libby is a very complex character. She really has grown by the end of the book in terms of her family, accepting what has happened to her, trying to fix what’s left of her family etc.

The kill club was pretty cool. I wished we heard some more about what they think after the truth came out.

Lyle was mad. I love him as a character. Excellent

Patty was messed up too but I respect her in terms of her taking care of her family etc. Sacrificing. That ending though ahem I never thought she would do that to herself but I understand I guess. It is highly questionable not gonna lie. Did not see that coming.

Overall this book is pretty cool. It deals with some heavy themes. It portrays farm life very well, as well as murder and how that can mess with someone in the long run. How it can impact someone’s life etc. poverty was also conveyed in this story really well which is a rare thing I actually read about in books. It is actually greatly emphasised. It gave me an insight on how bad it can actually be and how people living like that what they have to go through whereas we take it for granted.

The end was was excellent. I did not see it coming. I never thought it would turn out the way it did. I thought it would be Ben or Runner or even Trey. It was a page turner and I really enjoyed uncovering the mystery!!!

I had a harder time getting into this book, but the more I pushed through the better it got. I thought the lead character was painfully annoying at times. However the twists and turns and the telling of all of the story leading to the climax at the end, had me awake till 3 am figuring out how it all plays out. All in all, a great book!
