Huge improvement from the first book. I remember now why I liked this series the first time. Clary is still kind of annoying, but the story is immensely better in this book than the first.

I have mixed feelings about this one. I was kinda bored in the middle but the last chapters made up a bit with all the plot twists and the action. Hopefully the third one will be even better, I had so many expectations after City of Bones, but I think the author wanted to put too many stuff in a single book and the result was that a lot happened but in a very confused way

Okay. I think I'm going to call it quits. It's not that the book isn't well written or the story is terrible. It's just not for me. I didn't really enjoy reading them the first time around and I thought I'd give it another go before I gave them away.

I really enjoyed reading the first book and I thought I might have been wrong in my first assumptions. But as the second book progressed, I found myself less and less interested in the story and the characters.

I think it stems mostly from not liking the main characters all that much. Clary seems to be an impulsive Mary Sue type character that everyone loves, despite her not being all that great. And her love interest, Jace, is also a very meh character. Their chemistry is barely working for me.Throw in the incest story trope thing they got going on (a trope I'm clearly not a fan of, I've come to realise

Well, while interesting in general, this one was more of a struggle. It suffered from the middle book slump with an excessive amount of angst. Plus, the sibling thing was annoyingly uncomfortable. Overall, I enjoyed it anyway.

I am enjoying this series more then i thought i would. I knocked a star off because it frustrates me when they just can't state what they mean. it would solve a lot of conflict.
