The plot of this book is great. The pacing is awful. This book is over 500 pages and it could easily be well under half that and be a great book. I still like the story line well enough to try a few more in the series, but my enthusiasm is waning.

Another fun adventure with Peter. This one continues the story of Peter and the Starcatchers. However, this one doesn’t provide as much Peter Pan background as Peter and the Starcatchers did.
With this being aimed for a younger audience, I find that it is an enjoyable read, however the more I think about this story, the less I actually enjoy the story. There is an introduction to a new antagonist in this book, who does make the villains feel more of a threat. The stakes were certainly raised in this book, which also did make it more intense of a book. However, there were several plot holes within the book. Several times towards the end with events that made me scratch my head. Though for pure enjoyment and for a fun Peter Pan related story, this was a fun read.

Where the first book is slow, this one picks up and soars. Quite literally. Such a good bad guy. :) Creepy as all get out. And the love triangle between George Darling, Peter, and Molly is superb. (I will admit I'm in love with George Darling) Though there is one cheesy moment where Peter meets JM Barrie. Not a huge fan of that but I can see where a lot of people would love it. A solid second novel in the trilogy.

This sequel picks up the pace with development and story line. Its charming and fast paced, and does a sweet job of making us see the bittersweet in Peter's plight... He's bound to be a hero, but with that power comes more responsibility than a perpetual boy can easily handle. It's a lovely coming of age story that I'd suggest having your children read!
