With a delightful twist in an ever-so-slightly alternate universe, you find yourself in a world where vampires are victims. With excellent pacing, Patrick plunges you into vicious battles, taking you out just long enough to catch your breath while well-executed dialogue and description guide you through the plot and history of this world. It's a near perfect balance between backstory and action.
