I absolutely love this series so far!
I actually enjoyed the slower pace and felt it suited the story more as It took the time to develop Auren's character and unpack the complex emotions she is starting to feel. Plus we were also introduced to a bunch of new characters which are done so well
The revels along the way were so impactful and that ending - what a fucking cliffhanger

My only qualm was Malina's POV chapters - I kinda didn't think they added much to this book and took me away from the main plot. However I suspect it was done because she plays a part in the overarching plot in books to come?

Omg the ending. It’s great… first of all fuck Midas and fuck his cage and fuck his obsessiveness. Never saw it coming that he didn’t have the ability to turn shit into gold she did… and kind rot and commander rip being the same person, I mean I looked it up yesterday but still the revil was amazing. The ending was great, already starting on the third one. I can’t believe I tried to DNF the first book last year.
