Eh it was just alright. Nothing that kept me immersed nor do I want to continue the series. It was all just a little silly to me.

I struggled so hard with this book. This concept was awesome. I will first say that the main reason why I even considered reading this was because I heard it was going to be a movie. Don't judge me, I just like to read things and then see how well directors adapt it to screen. After hearing so much hype about how amazing the book was, I was really excited to actually sit down and start it. It took me SO LONG to get through it. The beginning dragged terribly. The first half of the book is basically the main character being confused because no one will tell him what's going on. The only exciting parts were when the characters actually entered the maze. I also got really confused because there WERE SO MANY CHARACTERS. I think it would have been easier if it was read in different points of view instead of third person. I would have liked to get inside some of the other's heads. The ending was cool, and it became more intriguing, but it just took me so long to get into it that I'm not sure if I want to continue with the rest of the books. Maybe I'll come back to it.

If I hadn't been attempting to get through the alphabet, I'd have probably given up on this one. I mean it was an interesting concept, but it mostly just got on my nerves with the kid asking the same questions over and over.

Okay, so I love this series. I've already read the original trio of books, I've got the fourth at home, and I just preordered the fifth (coming out September 27).
The language can be a bit confusing. I personally end up substituting all of the Glader's "pretend curse words" with the real thing. The story is fast paced, and flows well in my opinion. The first time I read it, it took me all of a day, this time I had work so, one week it is. It's a book that I will gladly re-read in the future, and that's the biggest compliment I can give. I'm so glad I decided to read the books when I saw all the movie trailers.

I liked the Maze Runner. It was a bit of a mystery so I can't say too much without giving things away. If you liked The Hunger Games you'll enjoy this too.
